Okay, I’m noticing a pattern here.
God is teaching me something.
See, He’s given me a real thirst for and desire for truth. I realize that God is a God of truth and even when you’re talking about your opponents or adversaries, it’s not right to slander them or outright lie on them.
So recently, I’ve found myself seeking to correct folks who present wrong viewpoints in regard to others.
Case study number one has already been covered in the previous entry on R.A.T.S. (Reformed Arrogance and Theological Superiority/Snobbery – pick an S…) in regard to arguing with folks about dispensationalism and correcting all of the wrong-headed-presentations that folks were dumping out on the board.
Well…. it’s happening again.
This time, on a discussion list I’m on. I’ve never realize how ‘stiff’ folks in the Reformed community (Reformed Baptist, Presbyterian or otherwise) can be when it comes to certain issues. One thing I’ve definitely noticed is that anything even remotely ’emotional’ seems to be almost taboo in reformed circles, except if you’re talking about carrying around a ‘somber’ face and quiet attitude and demeanor when you enter church on Sunday morning.
Sorry… that just don’t work… or fit. The God of the Universe saved ME – simply out of His mercy. My theology dictates that I should be on my way to hell and not typing this or anything related to it at this moment. But I’m not. Instead…
