Okay, I need a nice, creative title to describe my trip around the blogsphere and what’s new here and there. I’m probably going to occassionally link to blog posts I find interesting…. so …. help me with a name 
I obviously can’t use BlogSpotting since Phil Johnson has that one on lock….
Eh. We’ll figure out something.
Meanwhile, here’s what’s interesting to me in the blogworld:
- Tim Challies brings us up to date on Ashley Smith – the woman in Georgia that read The Purpose Driven Life to escapee and murderer Brian Nichols while held hostage. She inked a movie deal and a book deal quickly and she’s now on the speaking circuit. But there’s stuff that WASN’T told as a part of this story…..Meanwhile…. Nichols has converted to Islam. Talk about fruit…..
- Phil Johnson shares and interacts with e-mail he got from a Jewish reader who was busy “disemvoweling” the letters from “G_d” as a sign of respect. Old superstitions die hard.
- Matt Gumm puts out a GREAT post on the taking away of theological terms in some modern translations that EVERYONE should read.
- As predicted, someone intelligent decided to Blog on Dave Hunt’s recent issue of the Berean Call where he (again) makes some moronic comments about Calvinism. Thanks johnMark.
- Denny Burk highlights an apalling practice by the only abortion clinic in central Arkansas: Free Abortions to Victims of Hurricane Katrina. Murder as charity. I’ve seen it all.
- Al Mohler comments on the same issue with an excellent rebuttal piece to the NY Times article that originally brought the issue up.
- Russell Moore of the Henry Institute, picks up where Al Mohler left off and describes the impact (or lack of) of the ‘religion’ of the folks in the clinic.
- and finally, I think I may actually put some more time into reading LaShawn Barber’s blog because:
A. She’s easy on the eyes.
B. She’s quite intelligent and has very good observations.
C. Though I’m starting to not like discussing politics, I need to keep up.
D. We agree on a lot of stuff.
E. Ain’t too many black conservatives who’ll publicly say so.
That’s all for now. Got business to take care of around the house today, so I need to get moving.

Found your blog by chance, when I suddenly saw your nickname “black calvinist” somewhere.
Am eager to suss out where to go for a list of black christian bloggers, as a great friend of mine from Nigeria (who is a member of our very multicultural church) has just started a blog and I am keen to prove to him that not all christian bloggers are white!

More than a Calvanist, but Black, indeed.
I majored in Af-Am at San Jose St and graduated before learning the gospel of Christ. I was “reformed” without Christ, and then I learned the gospel amidst the five points. Often they’re preached, Christ is absent, and sinners trust Moses and not the Savior.
Thought I’d send a shot out though. I’m up to meet Black Calvanist. It is the closest thing to “gospel” that I can come up with. You say “gospel” and no one knows, hardly, what you mean.
