Just to let my mind rest. The performance went off without a hitch (save a few wrong notes and bad cues with the band, which weren’t readily noticable). Mr. James just told me he’s going to memo me about being more professional (mostly in relation to absences from work). This years’ been a pain and I’ve used up entirely TOO MUCH leave up to now.

Neither here nor there. I find it amazing that some kids walk around this school with such apathy about their lives and about doing anything other than something that makes them happy. When did life become simply about ‘what makes me happy’ ? And why aren’t the parents reinforcing the viewpoint that life sometimes involves doing what you have to do in order to get where you want to be ?
