Steve, myself, and a few other visitors continue the discussion on Justification. For those wondering, let me make one very clear statement:

Heretics and the deceived often try to approach the issue of justification by trying to make their viewpoints seem like ‘just another opinion’. Thus, we have folks in Rome who will claim Protestants as ‘separated brethren’ and (during their missionary overtures) treat folks as full brothers and sisters in Christ.

Truth is, this is what I’d like to call the ‘Kiss of Judas’ evangelism technique. The Mormons (Latter Day Saints) do it, Rome does it, and a lot of other cults do it as well. After all, isn’t this just John 13:34-35 being lived out among brethren ? All the while, they’re attempting to draw you away from the Biblical gospel.

I’m admittedly narrow minded on the issue of the gospel. The road to destruction is broad, open and a lot of folks are on their way to hell on it. In a day and age where we have America’s favorite new Pastor telling Larry King and millions of Americans he ‘doesn’t know’ when it comes to stuff clearly taught in scripture, it’s all the more important for Christian folk to be solidly grounded in the truth and preach that truth to their friends (saved and unsaved) as clearly as possible and as articulately as possible. No compromise – we’re at war. No ‘partly preached gospel’ – souls hang in the balance.

Al Mohler talks about the lesson from the whole Harriet Miers debacle.

He also talks about the Supreme Court and their continued muddled rulings in regard to religious issues.

A.B. Caneday exposes the usual racism from the left. Good show, Ardel. What’s even worse about this blog he rebukes is that author, Steve “The Other” Gilliard is black. Over the past 2-3 years, I occassionally Google myself – no wait, that didn’t sound right…. search for my name on Google to see how many times my name shows up in search engines. I’ve slowly been seeing Steve G’s name show up in the ratings (used to be that on any search engine, the first 18-24 links were ALL me). But that isn’t the issue. THE issue is that first and foremost, from what I understand, Steve is African-American like myself. This isn’t a problem. The problem is that he routinely lampoons any black americans who vote republican as ‘sambos’ and other derogatory race-based slurs.

Without going on for another 2-3 paragraphs, folks like this simply reinforce the image I’ve developed over the past 5 years that democrats control African-Americans and their vote by talking nice, throwing a few bones our way, pandering to us during election time and sending in ‘fearmonger watchdog gatekeepers’ like Mfumé, Sharpton and folks like Steve Gilliard to scare, ridicule and intimidate other blacks who only get one side of the story, back into thinking ‘well…they’re for civil rights and affirmative action – they’re our friends!’ I call it the ‘house nigger mentality’. Just like the guard in the movie Life (Lawrence Martin and Eddie Murphy), they simply echo what ‘Boss’ says and everyone else falls in line because one of ‘us’ said it. Sad state of non-thinking.

Jason Engwer at NTRMin Blog quotes an article from a newspaper to show that most of the folks endorsing the Jesus Seminar are complete morons. Okay, that’s not his words, nor the gist of his article, but that’s what comes out. Good for a good laugh. It’ll also motivate you to know your Bible better.

Fred over at Hip and Thigh talks about the decline of moviegoing and why he rarely does anymore. The only thing I disagree with is that I believe that several very good 90-120 minute movies have been done lately (i.e.- Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, The Notebook, Assault on Precinct 13 and the first Matrix movie). Still, worth the read. It’ll make you think.

Finally….

Daniel Randle puts out a very thought-provoking post on how a lot of liberals don’t wanna have kids. I say, let em’ go extinct and let’s all us conservative folk have as many kids as possible and raise them in godly fashion in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Twenty years from now, their numbers will be small and we will be the majority. Then we will rule the earth….mwhuhahahahahahahaaaaa!!! (sounded a bit postmillennial reconstructionist there, didn’t I ?)
