Short update for those who’ve been asking. Thanks for the prayer posts regarding my health. I’ve promised my sweetheart that I wouldn’t mortify the entire blogsphere with the details of my health issues, but needless to say, I got ‘taken out’ of work bright and early (5:30 am) groundhog day (2/2) and didn’t return till 2/7. And aside from a trip to get food with Meeky, the only place out of the house that I went that whole weekend was to church.

Strange feeling. One day I’ll share some of the thoughts I had that morning prior to the trip to the hospital when it was just me and the Lord around my apartment.

Anyway, while doped up on percocet, a certain melody kept playing through my head – which has now become the hook to the 6th track on the 8611 EP. :)

I’ve spent a few days trailing around other HHH sites including Rapzilla, 3HMp3.com and such, and I’ve decided that I need to lay some more groundwork before I toss this thing out there. In addition, I’ve also seen that more than a few people are releasing or have released their projects this month…. so me getting caught up in the overadvertising wave already going on…. not wise.

So I’ve pushed back the release date (originally 2/28 or 3/1….changes made on 2/17/06).

Track 3 from the EP will be an accapella :) Everything else will have instrumentals behind it.

Sorry to disappoint a few folks, but I think it’s the wisest decision and will give the project the most possible exposure that I can do for it. The blessing is also that I’ll probably have Monday off (thanks to the snow falling outside now as I type this – since church has been cancelled) as well as Friday the 17th and again on the 20th of February.

Before I go, an Apple story. :) My iPod was starting to lose it’s signal in the left channel…. so I took it to the Apple store. The tech simply typed my serial # in the computer from the Pod, looked at it, said ‘okay’ and went in the back and got me a new one. That’s why I love Apple. They typically make a product that’s sturdy and works for much longer than it’s expected date of expiration (usually 1 day after your 3, 6 or 1 year warranty period) and if it dies sooner, they fix it (at least now they do). I may have to invest in a brand new 30GB…..

Okay, sleep’s setting in. Time to go sleepy.
