You know, in times past, I would’ve sat here and put together a lament on all of the things that have been happening with me since the start of the year (and really, starting back from September forward)…. but I just can’t do it.

The list is RIGHT THERE in my head.

and I have absolutely NO real desire to get into it and list everything.

Instead, I actually feel peaceful. Even a bit JOYFUL.

Yes, I am grieving about my grandmother. I heard her breathing through my mother’s cell phone this morning as I got ready for work and it sounded horrible. I’ve shed many tears at her bedside over the past few weeks….. as well as in private.

Still, I trust God that everything will be ok with her.

I think about how my mother will react to her mother passing out of this world…. but I know that the Lord’s got her and got her kinda shored up and strengthened. Praise God for New Antioch Baptist Church.

I look at my personal life and think about the areas and places I need to grow, things I need to do, decisions I need to make and…. while it seems a bit daunting and somewhat overwhelming, I have peace about it all. My pastor calls to check on me, as do other brothers from the church and I had a nice convo with deacon Phil today, though he was at work. I need to call him more often. My church family actually cares about me.

It’s all going to be okay. It’s REALLY going to be okay.

Even though I missed church this weekend, I just got finished listening to the sermon on podcast and it was good. I’ll have to give it a few more listens, as it deals readily with the area of personal discipline (something I’m working through now).

Okay, speaking of which, back to catching up on work for school. I’ve been given a little bit of a break by my professor, so I want to use it to catch up.

Keep me and my family lifted up. It’s a tough time, but we know that God is God.
