Well…. approximately 2 months ago, I wrote a bit of an observation on one Mr. Dave Armstrong. I came in from the mall this afternoon and (in usual single-man fashion) went to the computer to check my access logs for my blog so I can delete all the blogspam for real estate offers, penis enlargement offers and blogporn links that typically creep into my statistics. The first recent visitor I noticed at the top of the list was Dave’s website…. and I figured he’d finally seen the post I put up in passing about him a while back.

Well, Dave’s replied with what amounts to “but Protestant apologists are just as guilty”.

I knew it’d be just a matter of time. The internet is getting smaller every day.

Of course, I’ll be responding in time (maybe later tonight or 2morrow before I go to a cookout and go see fireworks with a friend). My day’s been pretty decent thus far and I don’t feel like opening up the rhetorical trunk-o-words to respond to Dave right this minute. Besides… I have too many other small and medium-sized fires to go stomp out nowadays…. but later.

One small thing, though (since Dave decided to use this as the subtitle for his latest blog entry). I need to make one small correction on my initial blogpost. I just caught the typo today….

I originally wrote:

Me, being a natural attention seeker, I do have a bit of an ability to spot pride – even pride shrouded in false humility (“Look at how HUMBLE and willing to dialogue I am! Look at what others say about me! My writings speak for themselves!”). Just an observation – and a right one, I think. If Dave’s unregenerate….well, that would explain a lot. If he is, but just woefully misled and misleading others into Catholicism… that would explain a lot too.

Those last two sentences should be:

If Dave’s unregenerate….well, that would explain a lot. If he is regenerate, but just woefully misled and misleading others into Catholicism… that would explain a lot too.

I apologize for any confusion this may have caused on my part.

Okay, NOW off to goof off. :)

You accuse DA of lacking humility. DA responds by taking personal offense at your accusation and going out of his way to prove how humble he is.

    “I’m a humble man!
    A humble man I am!
I’m the most humblest man in the world, I am! You wanna know just how humble I am? On a humility scale of 1-10, I’ve voted myself 11! If you doubt how humble I am, just ask me. Who better in the whole wide world to tell you how humble I am than yours truly, Mr. Humility Incarnate, aka Dave Armstrong. In a fallen world, not everyone can be as humble as me. Being as humble a guy as I am is a lonely burden to bear. But that’s my calling in life. Let my example of peerless humility be…well…be an example to you. It’s a daunting standard, I know, to be as humble as me. But even if you fall short of my incomparable humility, at least you’re aiming in the right direction. It’s very humbling to have so many folks looking up to a lowly guy like me. It makes me humble just to think about it–to think about me…to think about me…to think about me…to think about me…
