Like the new title ? Got it from Shai Linne’s track introducing his CD, the Solus Christus project. I figured it best represented what’s usually going on in my mind at any given time. Look for a new look to the site as well. I DLed a new theme for the blog (actually, a few of them). I just need to do the usual code-editing so everything will mesh nicely. I’m also going to remove the stats link from the front page and a few other things so I don’t have to deal with as much blogspam from porn-bots and other nonsense that visits my site from time to time.

Life is still in flux for me. Changing jobs (and going through drama at said job, see tsunami commentary below), meeting new people, changing churches, adjusting finances, growing…. and growing in my theological thought.

So I’m heavily considering covenant theology now. Actually, I’ve been considering it, which is what led me to progressive dispensationalism. I think that practically and realistically speaking, anyone who is a consistent literalist (in the sense that dispensationalism teaches it as a hermeneutic), you’ll end up a Calvinist. If you’re a Calvinist, you’ll begin to move away from normative dispensationalism gradually – you’ll realize the focus of history ain’t got nothin’ to do with Israel, but it’s all about God. And then the folks payin’ $500 a pop for Jews to return to Israel will look kinda silly to you. Likewise, the folks who spend time focused on the next ‘prophetic fad’, whether it be Left Behind or some loopy prophecy seminar, will look so off-center. A sign of spiritual immaturity – a fixation on end-time events to the exclusion of properly studying any other areas of theology and growing there. The arrogance that most premill-pretrib folks walk around with, swearing up and down that they know exactly how the end-times will play out, simply because they read it in a John Hagee book, Jack Van Impe book/broadcast or somewhere else.

In the future, I plan on doing a few small blog entries on theology. I’ve got one on ‘save’ now. Here’s a hint: Matthew 25, Joel 3 and Revelation 15 don’t all match up. Two of the three do…. but they don’t teach what you think they do….
