Years ago, I used to be a regular in the chat rooms on AOL known as ‘Ebony’ and ‘Ebony Over 30’ (and all of the derivative rooms). The regulars of the room (Yogie, AltimaP, Blakat, Slicc, POPE, TallNDark, NINO, KatDix, Dynex, GoldNLaced, and a host of others…) used to have an annual meet up (Ebony Offline Party). Wasn’t just a party, though. Seminars and some other stuff used to go on. I never went to one, but I did happen to meet a few people here and there (either consistently on line in other places

Just randomly wondering what happened to most/all of them. I see Mr. TallNDark pop up on the5thQuarter.com every once in a while. Plus, he’s got his own tech company and seems to be doing well. He, though an Iota, was instrumental in much of my thought about BGLO life and for me pledging Sigma. Laced… probably hates my guts to this day. I didn’t do right by her (and I do regret it…. she’s really a sweet girl with a big heart….). Hindsight is 20-20. Takes some of us a while to grow up.

The others….I have no idea. I remember some drama that happened a while back when two folks were getting married, yet one of them was busy playin’ playa playa and the person he was supposed to marry didn’t seem to care. I hope they’re still married and I hope he’s being faithful.

Hey, folks ain’t really know me like that up on there, other than a screen name. I did a google search and found 2-3 folks who have web pages up from the 99 EOP (NOEOP – New Orleans Ebony Offline Party) and some other older NEOPs (National), but that’s about it.

That was a pretty decent community. Mostly more mature folk up on there.
