I’m going to pick up Wayne Grudem’s book The Gift of Prophecy in the New Testament….either that, or his Systematic Theology. I’ve been doing a lot of study recently on the gifts of the Spirit, including whether or not they are still all extant in the church today or not. I’m still, for the most part, a cessationist (I believe that the miraculous and revelatory gifts of the Spirit have ceased wherever the Word of God is present), but I’m open to being wrong on the issue and realize that God can and probably has used any of those gifts in places where the Word of God isn’t present (i.e.- some missionary in some African or South American country where the people are unreached).

Still thinkin’ on it. This one’s going to be a long-term-study project.
