I’ve got a ton of folks to add to the link blog list over on the side. I have 15-20 blogs I usually skim or read in detail and a few folks have been nice enough to reference or link to THINK! so I figure it’s time to be courteous and link back. Just call it evangelical neglect for me not doing so earlier.
I’ve been single since the tail end of February for those who haven’t been paying attention.
I still have people that knew I was supposed to be getting married later this year coming up to me and asking ‘so when are you and so-and-so supposed to be getting married ?’ and I when I tell them ‘well, we’re not anymore’, they ask ‘why’ ? and I answer…. ‘well, things fall apart.’ Of course, since this society is ridiculously inclined to bash men, the first question out of everyone female’s mouth is ‘well, what did YOU do wrong ? Why did you break it off ?’
That really irritates me. But I understand it. Dr. Dobson noted that 7 to 8 out of 10 commericals on TV nowadays that have men in them usually have men being degraded, made to look stupid or something of that nature. Watch your TV for it. Watch how men are usually the butt of every prank, joke, etc… or made to look silly or stupid in most commercials on TV. Pardon the logical fallacy, but if you don’t see it, you’re not looking.
Of course, my answer is ‘what makes you think that I did anything wrong ?’ to which I usually get the dumbfounded ‘well…uh… so what happened ?’ That’s right, another female has realized she has assumptions about men always being in the wrong when relationships fall apart.
I’ve had a lot of time recently to contemplate my singleness.
